Cary Mental Health Practice Welcomes New Clinician
Aja Cann Provides Mental Health Services to All Ages
CARY, N.C. — 3-C Family Services, PA, a local research-based clinical practice of psychology, psychiatry, and counseling professionals, has announced the addition of Aja Cann, LCSW, LCAS to its team of distinguished clinicians.
Ms. Cann received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2005. She earned her Master of Social Work there in 2009, and joined 3-C Family Services in August 2016.
As an outpatient therapist, Ms. Cann specializes in treating anxiety, trauma, and substance use. She is licensed to practice as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Ms. Cann is a member of the 3-C Family Services’ Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) team, where she co-leads a group for middle schoolers. She also leads one of 3C’s social skills groups. She treats children, teenagers, and adults on an individual basis.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy that focuses on mitigating extreme reactions through thought restructuring, group support, and mindfulness. It is considered effective for a wide range of mood disorders, including self-injury and chemical dependency.
